Dramatherapy is a type of psychotherapy which can be non-verbal (as well as verbal) and offers a creative form of expression using drama to facilitate a change of perspective/behaviour, to adapt to disability, to deal with difficult issues and to promote personal growth and mental health.” (BADth) Dramatherapy can work for many different people. In particular children or young adults who may struggle to communicate thoughts and emotions can benefit from being able to use the different creative methods to explore their situation. It can also provide a space just to talk through any worries, anxieties or struggles. Dramatherapy aims may include improving creativity, communication, emotional literacy and self esteem. No previous experience of drama required. Sessions are individually arranged.
